About the role

The Manager, People Business Partnerships is a highly strategic role, working closely with the GM & the Director, People and Capability to lead the delivery of the people strategy, organisational initiatives, and in-depth HR advice to key stakeholders to closely align the People and Capability service with organisational goals.

This is achieved by partnering with managers and leaders within the organisation to help build organisational capability, structures and people management practices. It has overall responsibility for the case management of complex and sensitive people matters.The role will also have accountability of its own designated client portfolio within the business.

Accountabilities:

  • Leadership and supervision of the People Business Partnership team including the management, mentoring, and monitoring of the performance of the team while providing targeted solutions around Best Practice - people management.
  • Develop and lead the implementation of HR strategic initiatives to enhance the performance and capability of the organisation.
  • Lead a collaborative approach to ensure that the HR Business Partners work closely with all parts of the People and Capability team to realise HR initiatives and maximise organisational and individual outcomes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in relation to complex and sensitive Workplace Relations matters to ensure the delivery of consistent and compliant advice and guidance. Ensure the support to the business is fully integrated and effectively manages risk.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with senior leaders and managers within the organisation to identify and respond to trends, people/performance hot spots and emerging business issues and needs.
  • Identification of opportunities where the People Business Partners can add value to build capability in the areas such as workforce planning and people management.
  • Lead the effective implementation of a variety of small to large, complex HR Projects to deliver measurable outcomes for the organisation Facilitate the planning, preparation, and implementation of organisational change initiatives.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Proven experience managing a HR Business Partnership function with demonstrated confidence and capability to drive improvements across the function and the employment lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated case management skills and an ability to interpret policies and applicable legislation.
  • Superior stakeholder management skills with the ability to develop strong relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a dedicated team of experienced People Business partners
  • Strategic thinker and commercially astute, with track record in developing commercially sound solutions for people issues, that advance strategic interests of the organisation.
