Job Description


We have an exciting opportunity for 2 x experienced Planners to join Taylors, this role provides a great opportunity for the right person to work on a range of projects and make a valuable contribution to our highly motivated and skilled team.

Our Town Planners provide high quality statutory and strategic advice to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients in a variety of residential, commercial, government and industrial projects.

Objectives include: -

  • To offer well-researched and innovative town planning solutions to achieve best possible outcomes for our clients;
  • To achieve productivity goals and invoicing targets;
  • To develop and foster client relationships to secure repeat engagements;
  • To maximise opportunities to introduce complimentary Taylors disciplines and services to client’s projects.

Desired Skills and Experience


  • Developing feasible, long-term strategies for client projects as directed by Team Manager
  • Offer sound planning advice with direction from Team Manager/Senior Planner as required to assist clients in achieving desired outcome,
  • Preparation of evidence and representation at VCAT hearings on behalf of client;
  • Compile accurate and comprehensive reports in accordance with Taylors guidelines and conventions
  • Provide accurate and timely fee proposals to existing and potential clients, including pre-engagement advice, upon consideration of all possible project outcomes;
  • Advise clients of accurate time frames for completion of milestones and anticipate submission requirements;
  • Regularly communicate project progress and/or relevant issues with clients and consultants;
  • Consult with Councils and other involved parties to obtain information relevant to submissions and project completion;
  • Liaise with internal units and teams to ensure optimum results for joint projects;
  • Produce accurate invoices at determined project milestones;
  • Attend weekly unit meetings and action resultant tasks with set deadlines;
  • Provide project support.


We would love to hear from you if you are Degree qualified and have experience in a similar role together with the following:

  • The ability or ready to manage projects with general supervision;
  • Relationship and solution focussed;
  • Solid grasp of Victorian Planning fundamentals;
  • Understanding of growth area planning;
