About us

Technology Solutions (TS) provides a range of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) services for the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS). The business unit sets the strategic direction of ICT in alignment with the business direction. TS is responsible for ICT strategies, initiatives, architectures, policies, projects, applications, and infrastructure services in a multi-sourced environment.

About the role

The Offender Network Technical Officer delivers and supports the Corrections and Justice Services (CJS) to optimise benefits from ICT services and new initiatives through the provision and support of the Offender Side Network. 

As an Offender Network Technical Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Implementing a risk-based approach to the provision of Offender technology to ensure security and governance of the platform
  • managing infrastructure architecture, policies, and road map in place to ensure the ongoing governance and optimum use of our infrastructure
  • investigating and analysing faults, identifying the root cause of issues
  • supporting a wide range of stakeholders and initiatives in infrastructure and assurance/risk, to deliver optimal outcomes, having the best in class risk management and strategies in place

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Information Studies (highly desirable)
  • project management experience (highly desirable)
  • demonstrated understanding of networks, network equipment and end user computing devices and services such as Windows Servers, Citrix, Cisco networking hardware, DNS, and Powershell.
  • in-depth understanding and knowledge of ICT governance, security management processes, and risk management principles in a technology context
  • Excellent knowledge of ICT infrastructure, including H/W, OS and Network.
