About the role


Hospital in the Home (HITH) is a bed substitution program providing Acute and Oncology treatments to patients in their home, allowing patients to recover in a familiar environment rather than in hospital. The NUM role also manages the Yarra Valley District Nursing Service which provides community based nursing care at home.


We are seeking a Nursing Leader with solid clinical knowledge and extensive experience in people leadership - instilling a high performance culture. You will harness your influencing skills and empower a large and dispersed team (approx. 60 people) to deliver excellent care to our patients in the community. You are highly motivated and excel in a dynamic work environment including change management. You will be supported by your direct report ANUM's, your manager, and Eastern Health subject matter experts in nursing, finance, WHS, HR, Quality, etc.

About you


To be successful in this role you will possess:



  • Experience in a similar role or managerial experience at a senior nursing level.

  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) via AHPRA

  • Ability to lead and manage the team to achieve high quality clinical care in accordance with evidence based practice standards and Eastern Health values.

  • Awareness and understanding of National Standards and Accreditation Standards.

  • Current knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and patient care delivery in health.

  • Ability to work at both a strategic and operational level within a complex organisation.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with demonstrated ability to consult and negotiate with a range of stakeholders.

  • Experience in change management

  • Experience in continuous improvement activities
