JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client, a well-known Melbourne institution are currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer/ Technical Lead to join large scale network access refresh projects.

You will be responsible for solution rolling out, working with the Domain Architect adhering to designs, low level planning, keeping to project timelines, hands on where required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership for wired and wireless network access refresh projects.
  • Oversee the solution rolling out, working with the Domain Architect adhering to designs, low level planning, keeping to project timelines, hands on engineer tasks where required.
  • Maintain Quality Assurance and governance process to promote effective governance and technical delivery quality.
  • Take responsibility for the development and review of configuration templates, project assurance checklists, Bill of Material (BoM) finalisation, along with technical delivery methodology and planning rollout schedules.
  • Work with team leads, managers, engineers, SME's, architects within the Network domain for technical delivery and assurance of the project.
  • Develop and maintain a range of technical documents, as-builts to ensure all documentation are up to date for Operation/ BAU handover.
  • Audit and enforcement of switch configuration consistency, consistency/ integrity of data for location aware services.
  • Responsibility for performing/ overseeing Wireless Survey and Planning tasks (integration of wireless access points with other systems such as WLC, Prime, CMX/DNA Space and other external systems)

Key skills and experience required:

  • Solid background as a Senior Network Engineer/ Network Design/ Network Tech Lead for large scale projects.
  • Cisco, MPLS environment experience essential. Wireless experience an advantage.
  • Experience developing fit for purpose documentation, including Detailed Design and Migration Plan documents.
  • Technical content creation experience using WiKi/Confluence an advantage
  • Proven experience with Cisco DNA Center (DNAC) platform: auditing and enforcement of configuration compliance for large scale deployments.
  • Cisco Catalyst 9000 platforms, including all software licensing aspects.
  • Previous experience in deployment of Quality of Service (QoS) including NBAR2
  • Cisco Wireless technology, MPLS, BGP, Multicast, QoS and Layer 2 access technologies on Cisco platforms.
  • Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and Cisco Prime to manage large scale wireless network.
  • Knowledge of Wireless Survey and Planning, preferably Ekahau and advantage
  • Hands-on experience in implementation and roll out of Cisco Catalyst 9100 series wireless Access Points an advantage
  • Cisco Wireless location solutions CMX or DNA Space an advantage
  • Relevant certifications (CCNA/ CCNE)
