JOB DESCRIPTION

The Front End Developer is responsible for the building, and maintenance of, high performance digital solutions that deliver measurable business value, meet stakeholder expectations, and help achieve MYOB’s business goals.

Key Objectives Outcomes

  • Support, and guide digitals’ more Junior Developers from a technical perspective.
  • Collaborate as a member of a cross-functional team within broader business initiatives.
  • Under the guidance of the Lead Developer, take mid-level roles within technology projects as a valuable contributor.
  • Working with other engineering teams across the business as required to ensure that appropriate system integrations are implemented and uniformity across the group where possible.
  • Optimise web solutions to ensure that they deliver the best possible customer experience.
  • Quickly identify and communicate potential problems, risks, and issues.
  • Input for digital platform design, build, and maintenance.

Knowledge, Experience
and Expertise

  • Commercial experience with JavaScript frameworks including Angular.
  • Commercial experience with Bootstrap, HTML, CSS, and CSS Pre-processors including SASS.
  • Experience using web services.
  • Extensive experience with version control and continuous integration.
  • Experience in an agile environment.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with other projects teams, and stakeholders.
  • Experience building responsive and ARIA compliant web UI
  • Strong skills in Javascript (ES6+) and optionally Typescript or Flow
  • Strong HTML5 and CSS3 skills
  • Good understanding of the browser technologies (DOM, web workers, web sockets…)
  • Familiar with frameworks like React (preferred), Vue or Angular
  • Experience with NodeJS and NPM or Yarn
  • Experience with Flux using libraries like Redux or MobX
  • Experience with bundlers likes Webpack or Parcel, Gulp, Grunt…
  • Experience with testing frameworks like Jest, Jasmine, Mocha, Selenium… 
  • Experience with other UI libraries like Material-UI, Ant Design or Bootstrap
  • Familiar with producing and consuming REST APIs
  • Familiar with version control systems like Git
  • Familiarity with CI solutions like Travis CI, Buildkite or Team City is a plus
  • Knowledge of Atomic Design is a plus
  • Exposure to GraphQL is a plus
  • Experience with AWS is also a plus

Degree (or equivalent qualification) in computer science, engineering or appropriate work experience.
