Chopstix Sorrento
$50,000 - $60,000 a year – Permanent
The Chopstix Sorrento is an Asian Restaurant located on Mornington Peninsula, a favourite tourist destination. We are currently seeking a qualified full time Chef to join our team and to assist in running our Kitchen. A full-time Chef will be responsible for all aspects of the operation of the Kitchen.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and cooking menu items
- Developing and creating a variety of menu items
- Creating weekly special meals
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Adhering to and enforcing hygiene regulations
- Maintaining a clean, hygienic, and organised food preparation area
- Supervising and coordinating activities of kitchen staff and assisting as needed
- Transferring skills to other team members
- Monitoring and maintaining stock levels to reduce wastage
- Closing the kitchen and restaurant with clean and hygiene.
- Working late nights would be an advantage.
- Providing proper training to freshers.
- Cleaning Utensils when required.
Requirements:
- Experience and qualifications in commercial cookery
- Minimum 4 years’ experience
- Experience in Asian cuisine is essential
- Excellent communication skills in order to converse with staff and customers
- Knowledge of food allergies and ability to accommodate special dietary requirements
- Ability to multitask.
