Sous Chef
The Moonee Ponds Club
Located just 7km from the CBD, the Moonee Ponds Club is a popular community club with facilities including a recently refurbished bistro, functions room, entertainment, gaming room, and bar.
Our growing venue requires a team player, with Club experience an advantage. The kitchen is currently open Tuesday to Friday for lunch, and Tuesday to Saturday for dinner.
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Strong work ethic and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
- ‘Hands on’ approach to cooking and cleaning
- Certificate III, Certificate IV, and Diploma in Hospitality in commercial cooking
- Ability to work in all areas of the kitchen
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of OHS, Food Safety & HACCP regulations
- 3 years experience in a similar role and experience running a section
- Ability to lead by example and work as part of a team
- Excellent organisational, delegation, and time-management skills
- Experience in menu planning & item development
- Training Staff
- Assisting the head chef with menu planning and estimating food/labour costs.
- Overseeing the preparation, cooking and presentation of all menu dishes to the highest standard
- Demonstrate different techniques and cooking procedures
- Ability to work a flexible roster including nights, weekends and public holidays
