Position Description:

An excellent opportunity for a motivated and dynamic Workplace Services Manager. The Workplace Services Manager will work onsite and manage the Workplace Services team in the Traralgon office, which will also consist of a Workplace Service officer, to support the delivery of Five Star Service in effective building operations.

This position is with a Federal Government Department in city with wide tree-lined streets, attractive gardens, and a thriving commercial centre.

Duties:

- Lead a team, allocate resources, set work area priorities and manage workflows to deliver Workplace Services, including Facilities Management, within the framework of Whole of Government and agency policies, priorities, objectives and strategies

- Manage client expectations through the provision of high-level agency-wide facilities, Workplace Services and accommodation support including, but not limited to, assets and equipment management, building maintenance and fleet management

- Provide professional insight, specialised advice and decision support to internal and external stakeholders regarding building and operational matters, issues and services

- Contribute to managing activities that support planning, priority setting and decision making in line with agency outcomes

- Provide an integrated consultative service, analysing trends, identifying risks and alternative actions and recommending potential solutions to stakeholders and/or the work area to ensure effectiveness and functionality of the workplace

- Understand and apply knowledge of statutory, governance and contractual obligations to achieve and improve outcomes in the work area

- Manage and develop team capability and effectiveness through the transfer of skills and knowledge, actively mentoring, coaching and developing staff on policy, practices and systems

Skills and attributes:

Our client is seeking a suitably qualified applicant who is able to demonstrate their ability with the following:

- is passionate, flexible and committed to providing excellent customer service and has proven experience in leading a high-performing team

- is able to quickly build strong professional relationships and engages with business partners across a range of complex Workplace Services (and/or building management) matters, often requiring discretion and good judgement in a practical setting

- works collaboratively, demonstrates high-level initiative and is able to contribute ideas to promote continuous improvements

- focuses on achieving business outcomes and the delivery of high-level service at all times

- is a sound communicator who tailors information to various audiences, including senior executives.

In addition:

- Current driver's license is highly regarded

- Patience, neat professional dress sense, professionalism

- This role requires physical ability: the successful applicant will be required to frequently walk and take stairs, as well as lifting, moving tables and bending etc.
