JOB DESCRIPTION

Spinifex State College Junior Campus is seeking a skilled, committed and enthusiastic Administration Officer to join our team. The successful applicant will provide effective and efficient administrative support in our busy office with a focus on student attendance. Personal attributes that will benefit the position include good communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask and prioritise in busy times.

Spinifex State College is a three campus educational facility. Our Junior Campus caters to years 7-9, Senior Campus years 10-12 and the Residential Campus houses all boarding students.

Your Role

As an Administration Officer you will:

  • Record and manage student attendance using One School and IDAttend software
  • Follow up on student absences daily
  • Provide reception services including receiving telephone calls and face to face interaction with students, parents, contractors and visitors
  • Receipt payments and undertake other financial tasks as required
  • Perform a variety of other administrative and support services as directed by the manager
  • Undertake work activities in a cooperative and supportive manner as an active member of a diverse work team

Knowledge and Experience

  • Ability to quickly acquire knowledge and understanding of school operations, standards and work processes.
  • Word processing and spreadsheet experience, and ability to use enterprise systems and web based applications.
  • Ability to communicate with empathy and influence in order to address problems and obtain cooperation and assistance in meeting required objectives.

When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
