The Finance Department brings a commercial perspective to business decision making and supports the Royal Women's business performance by providing the appropriate financial and business information and advice, as well as driving the organisation's business risk management program

Your contribution 

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible to the Manager, Business Advisory Services for the provision of financial and business advice to Directors and Managers, advice that is consistent with sound accounting/business practices, alongside the strategic direction of the organisation

Primary duties of this fundamental role include: Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Ensure that information is provided to the hospital management in a consistent, timely, accurate and understandable manner;

  • Support quality care through being part of a team that is technically strong in budget and management accounting, has strong analytical interpretive and advisory skills and possesses a strong customer focus;

  • Ensuring that the hospital Directors and Managers are supported with financial analysis, budgeting and modelling and the provision of business advice and support;

  • Ensuring accurate internal recording and reporting of financial transactions; and

  • Other duties as directed by the Manager, Business Advisory Services and General Finance Manager.

About you

To be successful within this role, applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong financial acumen, coupled with a strong understanding of commercial business concepts;

  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills;

  • Exceptional experience with the preparation of board reports (including financial statement analysis and variance analysis), general purpose financial reports, acquittals and end of month reconciliations;

  • Demonstrated experience in achieving team outcomes;

  • ACA or CPA accreditation, or studying towards; and

  • Previous health experience is desirable but not essential.
