Gastroenterology Senior Specialist

Ballarat Health Services is currently seeking applicants for a gastroenterologist position at our hospital. A 38 hour a fortnight position is being offered with some flexibility in the role for the right candidate. The role will include a gastroenterology clinic and at least one endoscopy list per week, overseeing biologic infusion service as well as contributing to gastroenterology wards service and gastroenterology department administration. There will be other opportunities including involvement in research and education, development of a sub-speciality interest as well as potential to build a private practice in Ballarat.

There is also opportunity for those seeking a conjoint clinical academic position with the Deakin University School of Medicine.

You will join a growing dynamic Gastroenterology team within Ballarat Health Services and help provide leadership and vision in terms of an agile and sustainable gastroenterology service model.

You will provide clinical leadership and expertise to gastroenterology clinicians within BHS as well as to the Internal Medicine Service (IMS) clinicians at BHS. You will ensure the environment for staff and patients is welcoming, professional and supportive.

Ballarat Health Services comprises the Base Hospital (221 acute beds), Queen Elizabeth Centre (Sub Acute Care 70 beds) and Psychiatric Services (67 beds]. New short stay unit and modern, emergency, critical care, ambulatory, aged care and rehabilitation facilities uniquely integrate in-patient, ambulatory, community and home based services. Ballarat Health Services is a major training site for the University of Melbourne and Deakin Rural Clinical Schools.

Ballarat offers a superb regional lifestyle with excellent public and private schools, recreational and sporting facilities, shopping, entertainment and cultural pursuits.
