The HCMT Performance Engineer Rolling Stock will be the key relationship between Rolling Stock Technical, Production and Network Operations regarding HCMT operations on the Metro Network. This role is a 12 month fixed term contract.
• Liaising between Rolling Stock Production, Planning and Technical Departments regarding daily incident investigation and reporting
• Liaise with other departments within the business, including Drivers, Operations and Infrastructure
• Prepare reports with appropriate engineering justification to enable Rolling Stock incidents to be correctly allocated 
• Conduct and lead Engineering reviews of Rolling Stock failures in running and make appropriate determination of the root causes with the available information 
• Prepare and evaluate submissions for engineering change, waivers, type tests, for Rolling Stock systems 
• Support the performance fault allocations through condition monitoring data analysis and technical reference point for Rolling Stock failures.

Your skills and experience:

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline is desirable 
• Demonstrate experience in the introduction and management of major change projects
• Significant experience in a project management environment
• Demonstrated experience in rail operations in a customer service environment
• Experience and knowledge of auditing processes

In addition to the above, you are an effective communicator, both written and verbal with all levels of stakeholder. You consider yourself to be a proactive leader who is able to motivate, mentor and develop others around you. Above all you take a pragmatic approach to safety and risk management and have an understanding of safe working practices within a live operational rail setting.
