As the Manager of Network Strategy, you will be responsible for developing Jetstar Airways’ mid/long term network footprint in Australia and Asia Pacific regions, recommending routes, frequencies and aircraft type allocation. You will be required to drive the Jetstar network strategy in complex markets and optimising for the best Qantas Group outcome in conjunction with Qantas’ networks team, by performing and commissioning detailed analyses and by working together and influencing various stakeholders.

The core accountabilities include developing and executing a long term fleet requirement strategy, identifying opportunities within the Jetstar mid/long term network to ensure that the profitability is optimised and that the network proposition remains competitive. Key to your success in this role will be your ability to negotiate a balance between commercial and customer outcomes.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Lead the optimisation of fleet allocation and strategic planning on a rolling 1 to 5 year timeframe
  • Develop long term network strategy underpinning a fleet requirement case balancing the various financial and customer targets
  • Support fleet related capital requirements for Jetstar with growth & fleet renewal
  • Engage commercial and operational areas to provide inputs and influence stakeholders to facilitate successful outcomes
  • Deliver effective and profit maximising dual brand strategies with Qantas
  • Proactively identify network optimisation opportunities, manage the seasonal variation profile and structural changes across all regions with an aim of maximising profit, increasing operational reliability and customer outcome.
  • Engage with network Line of Business owners to gather insights that could serve longer term optimisation.
  • Lead role representing Jetstar at Qantas Group cross functional network strategy & planning forums
  • Collaborate with the Scheduling team to drive improved utilisation, maximise returns and model various scenarios to determine optimal network/schedule.
  • Conduct and enable long term analytical and network modelling solutions that facilitate faster, leaner and with enhanced business and data insights (improving the way we work)

Finally, the development of strategic planning and long term Network development requires substantial partner and stakeholder management outreach and activities. You will be working closely with other Qantas Group Network teams, partner Airline’s Network teams, collaborate closely with Revenue Management and other Commercial functions, and consider and work with Operational areas.
