Sports and Recreation Club Development Officer
SPORTS AND RECREATION CLUB DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
- Band 6 Salary range $86,199 - $93,960 plus 9.5% Super
- Permanent Full Time
- St Kilda and locations within City of Port Phillip
About the Organisation
The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more.
About the Role
You will lead the stakeholder management of sports club and community use of our active sporting reserves, with a focus on club development and facility management. You will enjoy the challenge of balancing the competing needs of facility users and the community. Your passion for community sport and recreation will allow you to support participation and inclusion opportunities.
Duties:
- Manage the relationship between Council and all sport and recreation user groups
- Support and develop sports clubs to be sustainable and thriving in our community
- Manage allocations and use of council facilities and open spaces
Skills and Experience
- Knowledge and a proven track record in working with sports clubs, particularly in the area of business planning and club development and management.
- Knowledge and a proven track record in working with sports clubs, particularly in the area of business planning and club development and management.
- Demonstrated excellence in building and sustaining stakeholder management and liaison with sport and recreation clubs and community organisations
- Relevant sport, recreation or leisure degree with relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with extensive experience
- Knowledge and experience in the management of seasonal active recreation reserve allocations of public resources, facilities and spaces
- Superior interpersonal skills including motivation, conflict resolution and negotiation
