Our client is one of Australia's leading construction companies with a diverse portfolio of Commercial, Education and Industrial projects. They are active across NSW, VIC, QLD and ACT with a wide variety of projects up to $200M in value.

They are looking to appoint a Design Manager based in Canberra to assist the team on a number of upcoming construction projects. 2021 is set to be an extremely busy year for the team and they are entering a phase of growth over the next quarter.

As the Design Manager you will be responsible for managing the delivery of construction projects from inception to completion which will include:

• A thorough understanding of the design process
• Detailed knowledge of the property development approval process
• An understanding of the construction process
• Preparation of feasibility sketches
• Design options and presentation drawings for potential clients
• Procurement and contract administration
• Preparation of the design brief
• Relevant authority approvals
• Design coordination
• Managing/tracking the progress of state and local authority approvals
• Coordination of consultants

To be considered for the position of Design Manager you will require:

• Tertiary qualifications in Construction, Engineering or Architecture
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Design Management role
• Experience working on Industrial projects will be highly regarded
• Ideally Tier 2 or Tier 3 contractor experience
• Demonstrated experience in functional briefs, consultant scopes and engagements
• The ability to work in a collaborative team environment
• Experience over various building types in excess of $50M in value
