• Location: Negotiable An ongoing opportunity to lead the Loddon Mallee Planning and Approvals team to deliver high quality programs that meet business objectives and priorities.

The Program Manager - Planning and Approvals is responsible for leading a team to deliver coordinated and integrated whole of DELWP engagement in statutory and strategic planning for both private and public land use. The team also takes responsibility for planning approvals and advice processes as well as public land compliance services on behalf of the region. 

This position requires a person with strong understanding of land use planning, the Victorian planning system and of DELWP's role and portfolio interests to be represented into internal and external land use planning processes. The Program Manger will be an active member of the Land and Built Environment Programs Branch leadership team, contributing to the delivery of group and departmental priorities, and to building an inclusive and high performing workforce that is customer focused, collaborative, professional and engaged.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications such as planning, science, or environment, or knowledge and experience in application of Victoria's planning system and environmental regulation framework.
  • Extensive experience in preparing and delivering land use planning advice and managing approval inputs into significant environmental impact assessment would be advantageous.
