About MRPV

Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) was established to deliver a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of key road projects across Victoria, including new roads, road widenings, new bridges and major freeway upgrades. MRPV manages complex and strategically important road projects from business case development through to completion connecting local communities and supporting Victoria's growing economy.

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Principal Lawyer, this role will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to MRPV project teams and the broader business.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide commercially astute legal advice and risk analysis in relation to all aspects of project development, project procurement and project delivery
• Drafting contractual and procurement documentation, advising on contractual interpretation and supporting project teams in successfully delivering our portfolio of projects
• Prepare MRPV / departmental / Ministerial briefs and provide ad hoc legal advice to support MRPV operations as required
• Establish and foster collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

About you

The successful candidate will; hold a relevant tertiary qualification in law and be admitted, or eligible to be admitted, as a legal practitioner to the Supreme Court of Victoria and; have experience working in a legal capacity in supporting the delivery of major projects, contract management and the resolution of complex issues on projects to ensure that projects continue to progress as per the agreed schedule.
