Program Manager - Grampians Integrated Cancer Service (GICS)
Fixed Term Full Time Position
80 hours per fortnight with monthly ADO
2 Year Contract

Established in 2004, Grampians Integrated Cancer Service (GICS) is a cancer service improvement organisation covering the Grampians Region.

As an independent organisation GICS is governed by a Governance Group comprised of key regional stakeholders

GICS is not a direct provider of services but facilitates system development and service improvement by supporting local and regional services.

GICS Mission is to improve the experience and outcomes for those affected by cancer across the Grampians region by improving access to high quality, integrated, patient-centred services close to home.

The GICS Strategic Manager is responsible for facilitating the implementation of cancer service reforms across the Grampians region. This includes:

  • Developing and maintaining appropriate governance arrangements and projects/ activities to support improvements in cancer systems and services which are delivered across the Grampians region.
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating the GICS Strategic Plan
  • Developing and maintaining relationships critical to the success of GICS
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of GICS including Human resource management, supporting GICS committees, financial management and communications

The successful candidate will:

  • Relevant postgraduate health professional qualification in cancer and/or health management
  • Management level experience in health and/ or Not for Profit sector, with high level knowledge of cancer services and models of care within Victoria
  • Strategic and operational leadership skills with a commitment to working collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve the GICS mission and strategic objectives
  • Demonstrated high level capability in business, financial and program management, organisational management, compliance, and governance.
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and consultative skills with experience in developing and maintaining respectful partnerships and stakeholder relationships
  • Strong ability to analyse data and information, identify risk, opportunities, and issues for the organisation and to ability respond accordingly to address this
  • Proven track record and practical understanding of financial management practices and issues
  • Demonstrated experience in Project planning, methodologies, implementation, and evaluation.
