Our client is a values based community service organisation located in Melbourne's Northern Suburbs. They hold their values in high regard, with a key focus on customer service standards and a strong commitment to OHS. They currently have an immediate need for an experienced OHS Coordinator to join their team on a 6-month contract.
 
The Role
Reporting into the HR Manager you will provide specialist OHS support within the emergency management area. This role sits between advisor and coordinator level so it is important that you are engaged and capable with administrative functions as well has having the capability to take on the higher duties as required. This role would suit a generalist OHS Coordinator but has focus on emergency management.

Duties will include:

  • Updating Evacuation Drills for the offices
  • Review and update organisational Emergency Management documents.
  • Provide Training to all staff on emergency management for the office.
  • Review and update the office site maps as per new guidelines/requirements.
  • Provide Fire warden and first aid training to staff members.

Your Experience
To see you successful in this role it is imperative you are a people person, demonstrating excellent relationship building skills. You will be a solid and effective communicator with the ability to add polish and professionalism when dealing with stakeholders at all levels. You will have the ability to work under pressure to multiple demanding timelines coupled with well-developed written and verbal communication skills. 

Technically you have solid experience in a similar role. You will have solid qualifications in OHS as a minimum allowing you to have a solid understanding of the OHS act and regulations. You will demonstrate expert computer and reporting skills along with Intermediate MS Excel capabilities.
