Casual Relief position

A rare opportunity exists for a skilled Registered Nurse with surgical nursing or perioperative experience and an interest in Pre-admission Clinic to join our dedicated Surgical Services Access nursing team. This is a great opportunity to broaden your professional experience and savour a new challenge.

The Position:

Reporting to the Elective Surgery Access Coordinator, this role works predominantly providing leave relief to the Preadmission Clinic nursing team.

Key responsibilities include; ensuring all pre-operative patients receive appropriate pre-surgery nursing and medical assessment and investigations, preparing patients and carers for surgery and discharge while working closely with the Elective Surgery Access Coordinator and the medical and nursing teams.

The role of the Pre-admission Clinic and Surgical Services Access department is to facilitate safe and timely preparation of elective surgery patients for surgery, with a focus on patient centred, integrated care at all times. 

What you need:

To skillfully perform this role, a minimum of 2 year's experience in acute nursing including experience in perioperative or surgical nursing is required. You will have excellent knowledge and assessment skills in surgical nursing, show compassion and a commitment to patient centred care, and demonstrate careful attention to detail. Your strengths will include an ability to work autonomously and excellent organisational and problem solving skills.
