Who are we?

The Kmart Group is comprised of Kmart and Target, Catch, and the Kmart Group Asia sourcing business. It was formed as the Department Stores Division in February 2016 and re-branded to the Kmart Group in January 2019. The division operates 520 stores across Australia and New Zealand and employs more than 44,000 team members.

Based between both the Target State Support Office in Williams Landing and Kmart’s National Office in Mulgrave.

What will you do?

Reporting to the Head of Talent Acquisition, we are now seeking an experienced strategic Talent Acquisition Partner- 3 mth Contract to join Kmart’s Talent Acquisition team to support end-to-end recruitment for corporate office, IT as well as Kmart Group and inter-brands of Wesfarmers. Key responsibilities of this role will include the following;

  • Act as a trusted, TA Partner to Kmart business Leaders to create sourcing strategies to attract candidates for key talent segments and working alongside them to understand workforce planning requirements
  • Build strong partnerships with key hiring managers across the business and develop a strong understanding of the functional roles sitting within your assigned business units
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment process including; role briefing, development of sourcing strategy, creation and posting of adverts, shortlisting, phone screening, interviewing, contract generation and final placement
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the Kmart recruitment process
  • Building and managing talent pools/pipeline of candidates for key talent segments across the business
  • Establish cost effective sourcing strategies for recruitment, considering budget implications
  • Lead project-based recruitment initiatives including D&I, driving process improvements, EVP or leading specialised recruitment campaigns

About You

To meet the challenges of this role, you will ideally possess the following skills and experience;
  • Prior experience recruiting executive level roles, IT and Corporate Support roles as an internal recruiter for a corporate national office combined with experience in supporting volume recruitment campaigns
  • Working familiarity with; PageUp (or similar applicant tracking systems) ideally at a ‘super user’ level, LinkedIn Recruiter as well as standard job recruitment platforms/technologies and social media.
  • Working understanding of relevant legislative requirements (anti-discrimination, privacy act, advertising laws, international relocation and visa sponsorship etc)
  • Those with exposure and understanding of retail industry structure, and/or experience in large complex organizations would be considered highly regarded
