• Location: Melbourne, CBD Exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team building and maintaining the entire data pipeline, database design and administration

The Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Unit has an exciting opening, looking for a Team Leader – Data that can step into this pivotal, newly created role. The ideal candidate is an experienced data professional that can drive and support a broad program of work relating to the Knowledge and Planning Branch's capability uplift around data and reporting.

Working across a large number of projects and business areas, the role will be expected to act with a large degree of autonomy, to liaise proactively and effectively with diverse and often senior stakeholders, to project-manage proficiently and to provide expert advice on options, approaches and solutions relating to data systems and processes.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • With Agile approaches and demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Data Management and Data Governance principles.
  • In database development including database design and optimisation, on-‑prem and Cloud (AWS/Azure) as well as experience with programming languages, particularly DAX, Python and R.
  • Building and deploying Business Inteligence products (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, R Shiny, Plotly), designing and deploying front end data collection applications (e.g. PowerApps, Survey123, ArcGIS collector) and familiarity with source control tools (e.g. Git, GitHub) and practices (e.g. GitFlow).
  • Working in a Business Analyst and Solutions Architect capacity, and experience in designing, testing, reviewing and deploying ETL processes (e.g. SSIS, FME).
